Elijah Ford is a California native turned Austin-based musician, songwriter & producer. He is no stranger to the industry, as both of his parents have been life-long musicians. Elijah is the son of Black Crowes’ guitar heavyweight Marc Ford, and toured as part of Ford Sr’s Fuzz Machine at the age of 17, before getting the gig with Oscar and Grammy award winner Ryan Bingham, where he stayed until 2012.
In 2014, Elijah opened for + accompanied Ford Sr on the EU, UK & US tours for Marc’s Holy Ghost LP. Along with 5 other songwriters, Ford was selected to be part of ATX6’s 2016 class, a program that exports Austin’s talent to international music festivals and documents the journey.
While on tour with Juanita Stein supporting The Killers in 2018, Elijah & Killers touring member Jake Blanton (Sia, Johnathan Wilson) struck up a friendship that quickly turned into a creative partnership. Elijah’s planned LP evolved to become an entirely separate album written, performed & produced by Ford & Blanton, fueled by remote co-writes and off the cuff in-studio explorations. Recorded at Austin’s Public Hi-Fi by Brad Bell (Spoon, The War On Drugs) and mixed by Sean Cook (St. Vincent, Dr. Dog), this evolving collection of songs are being shared in the spirit they were made, for the love of it.
Between tours with Lola Kirke, Carson McHone and others, Elijah produced records for a handful of indie & rock n roll acts including Red Shahan, Tom Jenkins & Sarah Burton. Look for more Ford produced releases coming this fall, including debuts by ATX-based artists Late Kids and Shooks.
